Highlights of the 2014-2015 Fiscal Year (October 1, 2014-September 30, 2015)

  • The food pantry and warehouse were open to serve families 88 days.
  • 6862 volunteer hours were dedicated to procuring food, serving families, maintaining records and reports, collecting and managing donated items such as clothing, furniture, household goods and personal care items which could translate into more than $100,000 of labor.
  • We served 513 different Brown County families during the course of the year, representing 1810 individuals and 706 children.  In total, this represented 2503 food pantry visits and 96,355 pounds of food distributed with approximately $30,000 being expended on procuring food (this does not include the value of donated food).
  • Seven different community churches participate each month in the church food program and contributed 3707 food items.  Participating churches include:  Beck’s Grove Christian Church, Christiansburg United Methodist Church, Church of the Lakes, Nashville Christian Church, Nashville,     St. Agnes Catholic Church, United Methodist Church and Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church.  (St. David’s Episcopal Church joined in 2016 making the number eight!)
  • $2700 was expended for Helping Hands payments to utility companies for emergency assistance.
